Present the album Industrial Wastelands from composer of modern classical music, Anton Svetlichny, which was released at number 164 on label Simphonic Silence Inside. The release includes original version by the author performed on a prepared piano, as well as revised versions from musicians representing ambient, experimental, electronic genres of music from Russia, Moldova, Belarus. This collaboration aims to reveal the connection, common ground and vision of musicians and composers working in both academic and independent, free music environments.
The piece "Industrial Wastelands" makes an attempt to draw a symbolic image of the piano at the end of the history of its rebirth, in the post-industrial era. The ancient mechanism of the piano is filled with creaking and creaking - like an old manor house with ghosts. Any sound creates a long echo; it is reflected again and again by wood and metal - as in empty post-apocalyptic cities or in the workshops of abandoned factories in Detroit. The modern metropolis is split in two: a lush, glossy black facade and the dark desolation of industrial backyards. This split goes right through the piano, breaking it in half.
"The piano cover is the gateway to an abandoned industrial temple, where forgotten machines serve a secret, inaudible, mechanical Liturgy for themselves. He who has the will to enter this temple, let him enter. " - Anton Svetlichny.
